VMS:

When did you start writing and performing your music?
What’s your backstory and current lineup?

Into Fruition is:

Kevin Balzano, Guitar
Brian Serotta, Guitar
Matt Sorrow, Drums
Tyler Sanderson, Bass
Justin Estacado, Vocals

As a group, the majority of us were part of a group prior that has evolved into what has come to fruition now. Collectively, we brought in elements from each instrument that we all personally wanted to incorporate creatively that we weren’t necessarily able to do in other projects. Kevin, Matt, and Justin were there from the beginning of it, as Kevin brought in Brian. A little bit later we needed another bass player, which is where Justin hit up Tyler to take the helm. Now we all put in our ideas for songs, practice our shit, and prepare for shows in the future.

VMS:

What artists or bands inspire you and your sound?

Into Fruition:

Justin – Lamb of God

Kevin – Pantera and Dimebag Darrell influenced me the most at a very young age. I also admire many artists, including Chris Storey (All Shall Perish), Brandon Ellis (Arsis, Black Dahlia Murder), and many, many more.

Matt – Slipknot/Bullet for My Valentine/Metallica

Brian – Meshuggah

Tyler- Draw inspiration from everywhere but mostly prog rock/metal.

VMS:

What’s your writing process and inspiration for your lyrics?

Into Fruition:

Justin -I try to listen to the song as a whole instrumentally. From there I try to either pick up on a vibe that I’m feeling that I want to talk about, or I come in prior with a topic.

Kevin—Our current writing process is as much together as a group now. Bounce as many ideas off of one another till something sticks. Our first few songs were written mostly by Kevin and others for the other group that they were all in before, but with Tyler and Brian now on board, we all write collectively as much as possible.

Matt—I basically get together with the guys and hear any riffs they have and start putting together parts in my head that I think would work or sound great together, then we experiment and play around with things until they fit how we like them.

VMS:

I love your songs “Cherished Away,” “Forsaken,” and “Convalesce.” What is the inspiration or story behind these songs?

Into Fruition:

Cherished away is about being put on a pedestal of glory and inspiration that you didn’t ask for, and as people keep admiring you and cherishing you, they unintentionally start to make you wither away.

Listen to “Cherished” on Apple Music.

Forsaken is about when someone gets ridiculed their entire life no matter what good they do (like a leper) to the point where they decide to become the villain everyone made them out to be, even if they never were before.

Listen to “Forsaken” on Apple Music.

Convalesce is about rising from personal ashes. Over time from hardship, you rise to something greater in the end.

Listen to “Convalesce” on Apple Music.

VMS:

Which local artist would you like to work with and why?

Into Fruition:

Justin – Asylum of Ashes! I wish we could have their bass player. 🤣

Kevin -Hard to choose because there are tons of great bands here, but I’ll go with Asylum of Ashes and Body of Filth for my boys.

Matt – Haddonfield/Body of Filth.

Brian—Asylum of Ashes and Body of Filth.

Tyler—Asylum of Ashes, Body of Filth, Teach, Within Oblivion, Slaughterhouse Effect.

VMS:

What’s your overall theme or message of your music?

Into Fruition:

Justin -I’ll have to say the theme currently is mainly on struggles in life that everyone may have that either turn good or bad.

Kevin -I believe we teach a positive message, and our band name has such a deep meaning behind it. “Into Fruition” is something that we all are in some way, so since we are all in this together, we might as well all do our best.

Matt -For me, this music is a way I get my anger/frustration and sadness out in a way that helps others feel like they aren’t alone.

VMS:

Do you have a favorite song that you like to perform?

Into Fruition:

Justin—Forsaken 🤘.

Kevin—Cherished Away. That song means a lot to me.

Matt—Glimmer of Hope.

Brian – Convalesce.

Tyler – Convalesce.

VMS:

Do you have any crazy or interesting stories from working in the music scene?

Into Fruition:

I’m sure we all had crazy stories in the scene before we became a band together. But as a band right now as we come into fruition, we have yet to have something super wild to come into fruition, *wink wink 🤣.

VMS:

What does the future hold for Into Fruition.

Into Fruition:

Justin—We have more songs to come out for all people to prepare and embrace in the future.

Kevin—Get our last few songs tracked so we can get our album out, play shows, and rock and roll as much as we can because music is what we love.

Matt -I’d like us as a band/family to play more venues around Vegas and maybe out of state with good bands and just have a good time. That’s what it’s all about. We’ve got a lot of new music coming out with maybe a couple of surprises along the way.

VMS:

What have been your personal pros and cons of being a band here in Las Vegas? What do you think the scene could improve on, and what are your hopes for the future of the Vegas music scene?

Into Fruition:

Justin -I’ve got nothing but love for this scene. When I do make it out by myself or perform a show, it’s always welcoming and brutal.

Kevin -Vegas has been a great place to play with pretty damn good support of music, but we could always use more support and always want more venues to play metal. Vegas does love its music scene, though, and I love Vegas.

Matt— It’s always good here in Vegas as a scene. Everyone knows each other, and the scene is only growing and getting better.

Brian -The pros of the Vegas scene are that everyone is cool out here. Other bands and musicians I know out here are cool and chill. The cons are that the metal scene is very small out here. I hope the Vegas metal scene grows!

Tyler—Las Vegas, being one of the biggest entertainment capitals of the world, has lots of opportunities but also lots of competition.

VMS:

What do you want your audience to feel and experience at one of your live shows?

Into Fruition:

Justin—to like what we do and headbang in approval

Kevin—Joy, just come have an awesome musical experience with us.

Matt -I want the audience to feel the emotions flowing and the energy and the passion that not just the bands bring but the fans as well.

Brian -I want the listener to enjoy the music and feel the music. Listening to every single detail of a song, it’s exciting to hear it all in a mix.

Tyler—Good times and togetherness/unity.

VMS Thoughts:

What I love about Into Fruition is how they beautifully intertwine Metal (with Classical vibes in my opinion) and their incredibly raw, gritty vocals to create a truly one of a kind experience for the listener. I listen to metal bands all the time, and what I love about this genre of music in general is that there really are no clear cut rules per say. Everyone just takes the core of this amazing sound and uses it to create something truly unique, and I think that’s amazing. I never really know what to expect sometimes with the metal community.

And that’s why I find Into Fruition so interesting as a band and musicians. They have taken that sound and their influences and are not afraid to bring their own unique style and wonderfully raw lyricism to the forefront. They are always making me feel all the complex emotions they have in their music. Whether it’s anger, sadness, jealousy, or all of the above, All I know when I listen to Into Fruition is that they’re always going to give me something new, and something from their souls. To me, that’s what separates the good artist from the great artists.

I do encourage you, If you ever get a chance to see Into Fruition live, please go do it! The intensity of their music translates incredibly well into their electric live shows. You really do need to see them live to understand the full experience of their music. They are intensity personified and put on one hell of a show. I guarantee you you would not be disappointed!

I am incredibly honored to have Into Fruition as my artist of the week. And I’m genuinely excited to see the evolution of their music and musicianship. I already think they’re incredibly strong and have come out the gate swinging, but I also know the best has yet to come.
