Hello Rockstars! I wanted to talk about the wonderful VIP Special event I was invited to by Las Vegas Metal band Madzilla! Check it out! 😉
I have been a big fan of Madzilla’s music for a while now and I got the honor of interviewing them as an Artist of the Week back in June of 2023, so I was so so excited to get a invite from the band themselves to a very special VIP Event they were hosting on March 22nd, 2025 at The Griffin studios.
It was a special gathering to introduce their newest member, their incredibly sick new guitarist Sarah, hear some awesome music and do a meet and greet with the band! I legitimately didn’t know what to expect but I went cause I’ve seen videos they have posted on Instagram of their new guitarist and I really needed to see her in person!
So I will openly admit the fact that even though I love going to concerts, I am definitely more of an introvert when it comes to talking to people (and I’m also super awkward sometimes because of this, so that’s fun! lmao) Thank God I met another introvert while we were waiting on a soundcheck for the event! Her name is Sondra Xavier and she is literally the nicest person ever and definitely made me feel more comfortable in a room full of strangers. We bonded on horror films, being socially awkward and her being a proud pet mom. Anyone who loves Carnival of Souls is cool in my book! She has a horror anthology podcast and a novel out now if you guys wanna go check her out!
So when Madzilla hit the stage the first thing that stood out for me was not only is their new guitarist Sarah a solid musician, but they all work so incredibly well together as a band. If you didn’t tell me she is new, I would have never known, they just flowed so effortlessly together and have such an amazing chemistry and for the record, everyone killed their solos (Sarah especially!) but all in all it was such a wonderful taste into what we can expect for the future of Madzilla!
I am so excited for them, and I know she is going to be an amazing addition to the Madzilla family!

I also got the chance to talk to Madzilla’s new guitarist Sarah, I asked her about her musical influences, how she got started with the band and more:
VMS: “So, how did you get involved with Madzilla?”
Sarah: “Actually my old band played a show with Madzilla and then I started talking to David (Lead Singer) a little bit, I guess that’s how we became acquainted. And then a few months ago he reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in joining.”
VMS: “Oh that’s awesome! Well you’re sick, so that seems like a no brainer. So tell me what are your musical influences? Has metal always been a part of what you wanted to do, or did it kind of evolve into that?”
Sarah: “It’s kind of always started to look like Rock, with bands like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. But now it’s a lot of the same influences like Madzilla; like Megadeth and Metallica, I really like this music too cause it reminds me a lot of that sound.”
VMS: “Yeah, those are great! I interviewed Madzilla a couple of years ago (June 24th, 2023 to be exact) and they are just some of the nicest guys ever. I’m hoping this is a really good journey for you.”
VMS: “And you guys have your show on March 29th?”
Sarah:”Yes, a week from today!”
VMS:”Yeah, I will definitely try and come see you guys!”
Sarah: “Yeah that would be awesome.”
VMS:”Cool, well it was lovely to meet you!”
Sarah: “Thank you so much for coming.”
I also talked to Madzilla’s lead vocals and guitar David Cabezas on the evolution of their band:
VMS:”I really like your 2024 album “Deadly Threat”, what’s the evolution you guys are going to have for your next album?”
David Cabezas: “What’s the evolution? Omg, that’s a really big question to answer (us both laughing cause I just realized I dropped a huge question on his lap. lol) The thing is, one thing I can tell you is that we really really try to be better every time, so we practice a lot, so if you speak technically then next album will have more technique itself, a little more complex riffs probably. But then again we try to keep the style the same, and also on the next album we will have her! (Points to their awesome new guitarist Sarah)”
VMS:”Yeah, that’s gonna be sick, I loved her, she’s amazing!”
David Cabezas: “She’s awesome and she’s also super nice and very down to earth, It’s like the piece we were missing.”

I also wanna encourage you guys to go see Sarah absolutely kill it in person at the show they have this Saturday March 29th at Backstage Bar and Billiards! It’s an absolutely stacked show and it’s going to be an incredible night!

The biggest takeaway from the Madzilla VIP Event was how incredibly nice the whole band is and between them, their manager, and also meeting their family and friends, it was a wonderful afternoon of music and love. I’m so proud to know such a cool band like Madzilla and I’m so excited to see where their journey will take them next! They are the real deal!
