About Us!

The Origin Story (Dun Dun Dun):

ABOUT US:

We are a Las Vegas based Music page ran by local weirdos for local weirdos and beyond! Born and raised in the great city of sin we have seen this city have it’s fair shares of ups and downs, and lord knows the same goes for our local music scene here as well! The unfortunate part of being a Band or Artist in Las Vegas is usually we get overshadowed by the glitz and glamour.

Well, fuck that noise!

While I love and respect the uniqueness that is Vegas, my goal with creating this music page on Instagram and Facebook was to create a page that highlights some of the amazing local Bands and Artists that call Las Vegas their home. Ever since my high school days dating back to going to the Huntridge Theatre and seeing some wonderful bands (local and non-local) I have a mad love and respect for this scene and it’s amazing talent!

My goal for this site is to showcase anything and everything I can about all these incredibly talented artists!

Artists of the Week, Monthly Playlists of local Artists, Amazing Song reviews by the brilliant Melissa M. Gill, Album reviews, Podcasts and more! I have so many cool things I am working on right now as I type this, So let’s buckle up and have some fun!!!

The Weirdos:

Lara Laatikainen

Music Nerd #1: Ever since she was a kid, Lara has been a very lonely lonely child. She found her love of music at the age of 10, listening to her cassette tapes, and recording shit off the radio cause she was cheap. Eventually she graduated to buying proper cd’s with No Doubt, Alanis Morisette, Fiona Apple and Joni Mitchell being her first big purchases…..it’s been downhill ever since. Her hobbies include coffee, painting, singing, drawing, reading, satanic rituals (cause rock music!), talking about herself in the third person and saying incredibly inappropriate things at the wrong time.

Melissa M.Gill

Music Nerd #2: A Las Vegas native, is a freelance journalist, literary artist, and social media manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her work appears in The Recording Academy, Consequence, Off The Strip Media, Flash Fiction Magazine, and Devoid Magazine. She’s fascinated by all things paranormal and peculiar. People have guessed that she’s a Capricorn, but she’s actually three raccoons stumbling around in a trench coat. Her music taste is mood-based, but some of her favorite artists are Silk Sonic, Phoebe Bridgers, Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton, Paramore, and Tracy Chapman. She’s currently working on her debut poetry chapbook, Neon Neverland. Follow her on Instagram, @melissa.m.gill, to read her latest work.
